Makeup primers are an important step before applying makeup. Primers do so many different things these days, such as hydrate, smooth, matify, reduce pores, and even colour correct and help your makeup last all day. So I was super excited when I saw that Make Up For Ever released their 10 skin equalizer primers. Each primer has a different formulation to address different skin concerns. I recently got the hydrating primer from Sephora because I have dry skin.
The hydrating primer contains a special H2O complex which provides moisture to dehydrated skin.
I love finding new primers for my dry skin. My favourites are the hourglass N28 primer, the YSL touche eclat blur primer, and the smashbox photo finish primer, so I was excited to try the MUFE hydrating primer hoping it would live up to my two favourites, at a cheaper price. However, I don’t feel like the hydrating primer lives up to its hype. The primer feels so lightweight that my skin almost doesn’t feel primed. It’s fast absorbing and feels like something a moisturizer would do. It just moisturizes my skin, which at this point I’ve already done before priming my skin. I guess you could combine two of the primers to get the perfect base, however I feel like with the hourglass primer everything feels prepped and primed with one product. For me to love this product I’d have to use it with another primer. However, everyone’s skin is different, I would just recommend getting the travel size first to test it out and see whether you like it or not.
