Bioderma Sensibio Cleansing Milk

bioderma

I’ve been obsessed with the Bioderma sensibio H2O since I was introduced to it. Recently on one of my stock ups I saw that there was a new product, the Sensibio Cleansing Milk. I was intrigued, hoping that it was just as good as the H2O, I bought it along with a few more bottles of the Sensibio H2O.

What Is It?

The Sensibio Cleansing Milk is a milk toning lotion, eye makeup remover for sensitive skin. It gently removes makeup without needing to be rinsed off (perfect for those lazy nights).  It is light, opaque, milky and creamy. The formula is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free (important for me), non-comedogenic, and surfactant-free.

How Does It Work?

Surfactants are molecules with a hydrophilic (water loving) head, and lipophilic (lipid/fat loving) tail, that arrange themselves into micelles. These micelles can draw oil into their center then the oil will be drawn away from the surface. Having a formula that is surfactant free means it’s not going to dry out your skin by removing the natural oils your skin produces, which is why this product is recommended for dry skin. On top of being surfactant-free, it contains glycerin which is a humectant. Humectants absorb water from the air and helps skin retain moisture, another benefit for dry skin. The Toleridine complex inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory molecules and makes the skin less reactive.

Pros

  • Combines softness and freshness
  • removes all makeup
  • doesn’t dry out skin

Cons

  • Slightly greasy feeling after using

Overall

It’s a great product for dry skin like mine, but I still prefer the Sensibio H2O to remove all my makeup. It feels fresher than the cleansing milk. I’d use the cleansing milk quickly in the morning when I’m not wearing makeup.
