The Miracle Makeup Primer You Need.

Marc Jacobs Perfecting Coconut Primer

Primers are an important step in any makeup application ( a lesson I learned the hard way growing up). I always thought it was unnecessary step and would skip it, now looking back at those old high-schoool photos I’m like “what was I thinking!?”

Primers create a perfect base before makeup application. It should smooth out, and blur any imperfections while hydrating your skin. This allows a flawless application that lasts all day.

Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer

I’ve already spoken about one my favourite primers; the Hourglass N28 primer. Today I’m talking about the Marc Jacobs Under(cover) perfecting coconut primer. The day this was released I was very intrigued because of my obsession with coconuts. I use coconut for everything (no seriously)!

What Is It?

This primer is a “skin-smoothing, makeup-extending primer infused with 5 types of coconut to nourish and hydrate.” The formula is very nutrient rich, and ideal for normal to dry skin. A bonus is that it is paraben, sulfate, and pthalate free!

How Does It Work?

Coconut water- derived polysaccharide complex acts like a synthetic primer, but allows the skin to breathe (important in preventing “cakey-ness,” and breakouts).
Five essential coconut ingredients help prime and smooth the skin:

  1. Coconut fruit: skin-boosting vitamins and antioxidants
  2. Coconut water: hydrates and soothes
  3. Coconut milk: smooths and blurs skin
  4. Coconut polysaccharide: primer
  5. Coconut extract: adds coconut fragrance

Why You Need It

The formula is extremely milky and hydrating. It really smoothes the skin and creates a perfect base (as a primer should). I’ve noticed my makeup does not budge all day with this primer. I can wear makeup for 12+ hours and it does not move. My skin felt hydrated and glowing. I even noticed improvement in my skin’s texture without wearing makeup. I’m serious when I tell you coconuts are a miracle. I’m so happy there’s a coconut primer! I just wish they would make an entire skincare line based on coconuts.
