Glamglow Supercleanse

Glamglow supercleanse review

Glamglow was originally designed for professional use backstage in Hollywood until 2011 when it became available to consumers worldwide. It then became one of the top selling skincare brands. I, myself, am a huge fan of their face masks, especially the thirstymud  and youthmud treatments. I was thrilled when they released their daily cleansing line!

What is it?

The supercleanse is a powerful mud to foam daily cleanser that transforms from mud to a gentle lather to dissolve oils, makeup and other pore-clogging impurities. It is based on the top selling supermud clearing treatment for problematic skin.

How Does It Work?

Apply one to two pumps over a dry face, then add water to remaining product on your hands and begin to lather. Add more water in circular motions to increase foam then rinse thoroughly. As a precaution, it’s best to not use the cleanser as a mask, which means it’s better to rinse it off right away rather than leaving it on your skin for a few minutes.

The supercleanse mud contains: TEAOXI technology (eucalyptus leaf powder) to deliver natural eucalyptol oil, linalool oil, and flavonoids to soothe skin, K17 and Mediterranean clay to detoxify and refine skin texture, bamboo charcoal, and black cumin seed extract which provides anti-microbial and antioxidant properties. Due to the powerful nature of these ingredients it is best to not use the cleansing mud as a face mask, as it will dry out your skin.

Pros:

  • It does not contain parabens, sulfates, or pthalates.
  • Gives a tingling, and refreshing feeling during use
  • clears skin
  • a small pump is sufficient

Cons:

  • easily dries out skin

While there are many great things about this product, I do not use it regularly because it dries out my skin rather easily. I prefer to use it just when I feel like my skin needs the extra help, and I always make sure to use a super hydrating moisturizer after to rebalance my skin’s moisture. I think I’ll stick to the thirstymud by Glamglow.
